Arianna Farms Ono Kona Coffee, named after the owners’ daughter, is a 40-acre coffee farm on Hulalai Volcano in the Kona region of the Big Island of Hawaii. There in Kona Coffee Country the coffee plants thrive in the ideal climate with its sunny mornings and rain afternoons when the clouds arrive to protect the plants from the hottest sun.
Arianna’s grows three different types of coffee plants, or varietals. These are: Kona Typica, which is the most common type of coffee plant in the Kona region; Kona Typica II, which is a newer coffee plant varietal which has already won coffee cupping awards; and Old Hawaiian, which were the first coffee trees introduced to the Kona coffee growing region.

Arianna Farms Ono Kona Coffee plantation is on land that was once used as a pig hunting area by Hawaiian royalty. The land is still used today by locals who hunt to supply a pig for the family luau. The owners of Ariannas consider themselves stewards of the land and they continue to strive to produce the top quality premium Kona coffee including the Old Hawaiian varietal. The coffee plants have huge gnarled roots and produce a dark-roasted brewed cup of coffee with rich chocolate overtones. These plants are among the highest producing plants in the Kona coffee growing region.
The Kona Typica coffee plant varietal, when given a medium roast, is said to provide delicate flavor nuances, while the Kona Typica II may be roasted either light or dark.
Arianna Farms sells green (unroasted) whole bean Kona coffee, bulk green Kona coffee beans, Kona coffee parchment, roasted premium Kona coffee, and bulk roasted whole bean gourmet Kona coffee as well as Certified Organic whole bean Kona coffee. Arianna Farms Ono Kona Coffee is also a member of the Kona Coffee Farmers Association.
