The goal of the Kona Coffee Cultural Festival, which begins Saturday, October 30, 2010 and lasts for ten days, is to preserve and perpetuate the 180-year heritage of the fine coffee that is grown in the Kona region of the Big Island of Hawaii in Kona coffee Country.
The Kona Coffee Festival began in 1970, so this coming celebration is the 40th year of the event. Growing in popularity each year, many people are looking forward to the harvest season and the 2010 Kona Coffee Festival.
Some people really enjoy the Kona coffee cupping competition and Kona coffee picking contest while the favorite events of others include the Kona coffee tastings, talking to the Kona coffee farmers, and viewing the local art exhibits.
As the oldest food festival in all of the Hawaiian Islands and the only coffee festival in the United States, this is a unique event that you can only experience on the Big Island of Hawaii every November. The 2010 Kona Coffee Festival takes place at a variety of locations all throughout the Kona area over a ten day period in November.
